⚙️ 3G vs 4G — What’s the Difference?

3G (third generation) was built mainly for calls and basic web browsing.
4G (fourth generation) is made for streaming, HD video, GPS apps, and modern messaging.

In short: if you still use 3G, you’ll lose calling and data once 3G towers go offline.
4G with VoLTE is now essential — it keeps your phone working and your calls clear.

💡 Real-World Example

A customer brought in an old iPhone 6 that only connected to 3G for calls.
Once we turned on 4G and VoLTE in Settings → Mobile → Mobile Data Options → Voice & Data,
the phone began making HD calls again — ready for the 3G shutdown.

• Spectrum efficiency: Reallocating 3G frequencies to 4G/5G improves speed and coverage.
