Glass Only Repair — When Can It Be Done?

Glass Only Screen Repair — When Can It Be Done?

If your display and touch are working fine, you may not need to replace the whole screen.
EziRepair offers professional Glass Only Repair for Samsung, iPhone, Oppo, Motorola, and Google Pixel using factory-grade OCA lamination.

Quick summary:
If your phone’s screen shows a perfect image and responds normally, you can replace just the cracked glass.
No need to replace the entire display.
We use OCA vacuum lamination — the same process used by manufacturers — to restore optical clarity.
This service is ideal when display and touch are both functional.
If your screen has lines, black spots, or dead touch zones, a full replacement is required instead.

Before you bring it in — check these first

  • Display: Image is clear and bright. No coloured lines or black patches.
  • Touch: Works smoothly across the whole screen, no dead areas.
  • Frame: No major bend or lift separating the panel from housing.
  • Previous repair: Still original factory screen (not a copy or aftermarket).
Avoid cheap “quick fix” glue-on glass replacements — they trap dust and distort touch.
True glass-only repair uses OCA lamination and curing for optical precision.

We perform true glass refurbishment — not adhesive overlays

  • Factory-grade OCA lamination: replaces the broken outer glass, keeps original display and touch digitiser.
  • Supported brands: Samsung (LCD & AMOLED), iPhone (Original Display), Oppo, Motorola, and Google Pixel.
  • Optical quality control: bubble removal, alignment, and pressure curing for factory clarity.
  • Affordable: usually 40–60% cheaper than a full screen replacement.

Note: If the display or touch is damaged internally, we’ll recommend a full screen replacement instead.

How we perform glass-only repair — step by step

1
Inspection & testing
(pre-check)
  1. Check touch, brightness, and colour uniformity.
  2. Ensure no internal damage to display or polariser.
  3. Confirm it’s still an original factory screen (not copy/OEM).
We don’t perform glass-only repair on aftermarket or already replaced displays.

2
Glass separation
(heat & precision wire)
  1. Heat screen on separator plate to soften adhesive.
  2. Cut glass from display using fine molybdenum wire.
  3. Clean residual OCA and inspect polariser film.
Goal: keep original display and touch layer intact.

3
OCA lamination
(bonding new glass)
  1. Align new glass and laminate under vacuum.
  2. Apply OCA film evenly to remove micro-bubbles.
  3. Use bubble remover chamber for optical clarity.
This step defines the final visual quality — we use factory-grade lamination systems.

4
Final testing
(quality assurance)
  1. Check brightness, touch grid, and viewing angles.
  2. Verify no dust, haze, or optical distortion.
  3. Seal display edges and reassemble frame.
Your screen looks, feels, and works like the original — because it is.

When glass-only is the right choice

  • Screen image and touch still perfect, only glass cracked.
  • Device isn’t bent or warped.
  • Budget-friendly option when full display cost is high.
  • Preserves your original factory display quality.

What we tell customers

“If your screen shows clearly and touch works fine, you may not need a full screen replacement.
We can replace only the broken glass using OCA lamination and keep your original display intact.
If we find any internal damage during prep, we’ll stop and provide a full-screen quote first.”
